AFTERDEATH
According to YogaVasishtã, Death should be celebrated as the greatest joy, as death shouldn't at any time be considered as of the nature of complete destruction. The dead one is not supposed to be spoken of as lost; but being born repeatedly the mind perceives the the body getting separated by space and time. Continuance in different wishes or imaginations of oneself is called death. The individual soul remaining with it's desires, departs leaving the body and dwells in a different body, as a monkey may leave a forest tree and jumps into another one. If death is considered as complete annihilation, then also it is considered as a great achievement for those who do not believe in god or reincarnation 100% (THE 100% FACTOR IS VERY IMPORTANT AS, OUR BELIEF IN WHATEVER WE THINK IS CORRECT IS - ACCORDING TO VEDAS; HAPPENING TO US) because; then again they are leaving the terrible confusion and fear of worldly life with desires into a region where there is nothing else than oneness...... which is according to Upanishads another word for the ultimate experience of the oneness. You don't need to necessarily believe in god or any supernatural power to be released from the mind into the eternity- according to YogaVasishtã. It is just an easy way out!!! The beauty of the theory of Vedas for spiritual realization is that, in itself Upanishads are not overall concerned about the individual is religious or fearing the power of gods or the creator gods or like; but the only thing that is repeatedly being stressed is that- NEVER BELIEVE IN ANYTHING HALF WAY THROUGH..... If you don't believe in god; that is fine enough, but then it comes to natural conclusion that You Believe In Yourself. Then it is strongly advised that you believe in yourself 100% and not a little in yourself, little in god, a little in your neighbor, a small amount in your spouse and a whole lot more in your bank account??? Believing in yourself means that you believe in only YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES AND NOT EVEN ONE MILLIONTH IN ANYTHING ELSE.... It again comes to the Royal way of attaining eternity by `INERTNESS' and desirelessness in the worldly objects. You are invite here to read about the peculiar story of I would like to stress the fact that Vedas and Upanishads never ever says that for attaining true spiritual realization, leaving everything or going to forest is needed. You are supposed to have finished this part even before your marriage or first intercourse with a female counterpart (in the `Brahmacharyã'- or Celibacy Period). On the contrary, Upanishads cites various examples where Kings and family men while continuing in their normal life; attained supreme enlightenment and AFTER THAT continued as long as they liked in the worldly life; enjoying their wealth, material objects, women and still were considered to be Guru's by even forest dwelling runaway seekers of truth... (The Classic example is King `Janakā' of `Vaidéhi') Sage Vasishtā is of the opinion that the individual souls are led here and there by their own individual desires or what we can call as `mental imprints on the Sands of Time' in each of their dream deaths and births in a different extended place and a different period of time. As the seer of a dream, who met with death in his dream world is again born to see a different dream world (which is our waking state present world); so is that seer of the waking state, who met with death (which is real death to that mind) in the world of waking state- is again born to see a different dream consisting of the waking state in a different body. "The man who is dead while awake in this world is declared as awakened elsewhere. For one who who is awakened elsewhere after meeting with death in somewhere else, the earlier waking state completely becomes a dream" If this verse is correct; we should be able to understand, why we are not able to remember other dreams which the spiritual community interprets as `past lives'. The illusory power of the source is in a way doing us a favor by compressing and keeping it as a backup file so that the failures and unfulfilled dream wishes which we felt in the previous dream wouldn't be able to interfere in our present dream; so that the present dream would be used only as a fresh start to compensate for the past one. The individual soul having momentarily experienced the false fainting of consciousness (in death), perceives a different state of existence forgetting the former one just because of the creative power of our mind!!! I would really like to point out that a rational and logical mind shouldn't be having a different opinion that our Mind Is a very powerful weapon which gives pleasure sometime and depression most of the time. It is capable of dreaming and the relic is pointing out to the fact that this world we are seeing may also be such a very powerful dream like the theme of the very popular movie `Matrix'; but with the only difference that the worlds are produced "BY US AND US ONLY WITH OUR OWN VERY MINDS" and the cause of this malfunction in a perfect point of power is only the fact that `THE BIBLE' clearly points out... " DESIIIIIRRRRREEEEE!!!"
The Various Paths followed after Death"Those who know this and those who, dwelling in the forest, practise faith and austerities go to light, from light to day, from day to the bright half of the moon, from the bright half of the moon to the six months during which the sun goes to the north, from those months to the year, from the year to the sun, from the sun to the moon, from the moon to lightning. There a person who is not a human being meets him and leads him to Brahman. This is the Path of the Gods (Devayana). "But those who, living in the village, perform sacrifices, undertake works of public utility and give alms go to smoke, from smoke to night, from night to the dark half of the moon, from the dark half of the moon to the six months during which the sun goes to the south. But they do not reach the year. "From those months they go to the World of the Manes, from the world of the Manes to the akasha, from the akasha to the moon. This is King Soma. They are the food of the gods. Them the gods eat. "Having dwelt there in the lunar world till their good works are consumed, they return again the same way they came. They first reach the akasha and from the akasha the air. Having become air, they become smoke; having become smoke, they become mist; "Having become mist, they become cloud; having become cloud, they fall as rain-water. Then they are born as rice and barley, herbs and trees, sesamum and beans. Thence the exit is most difficult; for whoever capable of begetting children eats that food and injects semen, they become like unto him. "Those whose conduct here on earth has been good will quickly attain some good birth-birth as a Brahmin, birth as a kshatriya, or birth as a vaisya. But those whose conduct here has been evil will quickly attain some evil birth-birth as a dog, birth as a pig, or birth as a chandala. "Those who neither practise meditation nor perform rituals do not follow either of these ways. They become those insignificant creatures which are continually revolving and about which it may be said: 'Live and die.' This is the third place. "Therefore that world never becomes full. Let a man despise this course. To this end there is the following verse: "A man who steals the gold of a brahmin, he (i.e. a man who knows Brahman or who is enlightened - not the 'Brahmin caste system of india) who drinks liquor, he who dishonors his teacher's bed and he who kills a brahmin-these four fall, as also a fifth who associates with them.' " "But he who knows these Five Fires is not stained by sin even though associating with them. He becomes pure and clean and obtains the world of the blessed-he who knows this, yea, he who knows this." (Brihadâranyaka Upanishad)
