THE
LAW OF KARMA
The saying
that "Like Begets Like" provides a clear and deep insight into
the laws of karma which had been a confusing topic for the
western philosophers. Every manifestation of life reproduces
each of the like species or mind after it's own tendencies. So,
it follows that the mental patterns that we have as residue
would tend to reproduce as like thoughts, choices, and behavior
of the previous incarnations.
In the primer to
Edgar Cayce, it is quoted as an example from the new testament:
" Whatsoever A Man
Sows, That Shall He Also Reap"
(Galatians 6:7)
This law such
establishes order in the universe, instead of chaos and
disorder. This law as such emanates from the very nature and
love of god. The soul's return in successive incarnations is not
God's requirement for repayment or as a punishment, but it is
really out of his love that we are allowed again and again and
again another and another opportunity to choose the way of life,
love and light- for the mistakes and outrageous emotions and
actions we ourselves have done in our own previous memories.
The previous
life experiences are supposed to be not just archival records
according to Cayce, but they are supposed imbue the very
substance of our present lives. They manifest in the cell
structure of our bodies, our facial features, our
predispositions toward certain diseases such as alcoholism or
allergies, our emotions, talents, appetites, and in our
reactions towards toward others and the universe about us.
After death of
our physical body, the mental and spiritual bodies remain much
the same with respect to patterns and purposes and we move to
the experiences and planes of consciousness that we prepared for
ourselves. The readings indicate that the reason incarnation has
not been retained in Christianity has been a desire to take
shortcuts. Many hope that by belonging to a certain
organization, sect or belief system, or by claiming a certain
affirmation of faith that they would in some special way find
favor with God and so thus they would be given special
permission to appear directly into his presence after death.
Here I would like to
give some very nice quotations from Edgar Cayce Readings and
also from the primer and other books written as a summary and
explanations of his readings ( By Dr.Herbert.D.Puryear and
others published by the A.R.E Foundation); so that we would be
able to appreciate deeper meanings and beauty of these readings.
" Our
Entrapment in the earth is not at all due to the evil nature of
flesh, but rather to the limiting effect of our own thought
forms and desire patterns"
"In our
movement through the universe as a wave of souls, we came upon
the three dimensional manifestations of earth plane which we
saw, got attracted and thus projected our consciousness into an
ongoing evolutionary development of life."
"As ONE
manifestation of the spirit of God, the earth was good and
beautiful; but we were not intended to invest our consciousness
in it to such an extent that we would forfeit our freedom,
forget our heritage, and lose our ability to move through other
dimensions of the universe."
"As we grow in
understanding that each encounter is meeting of self, we may
also grow in a willingness to assume responsibility for our
choices as well as their consequences."
"As we forgive
ourselves and others, we are forgiven"
"The previous
life experiences in the earth are primarily responsible for the
karmic patterns of an emotional nature and the previous life
experiences in other planes produce patterns of a more mental or
innate nature."
" The Best
Definition For The Fourth Dimension Is An 'IDEA' "
"In the Edgar
Cayce Readings, Third of the three dimensions is referred to as
'Patience'; and Patience is an active force. "
"Things are
the way they are for a reason and exercising Patience means
bringing the spirit to bear on the present circumstances,
whatever they may be"
"In the
beginning as spiritual beings, we were in the mind God as focal
points of individual awareness, yet with an open access to the
infinite"
As a
motivation is quickened within us, the life force flows through
a pattern, giving expression to that motivation and it manifests
in our emotional behavior as a talent, personal quality, a
habit, or a disease and the manifestation of such patterns is
called Karma. The pattern which is perfect and whole with pure
love was energized by Jesus Christ and so we should strive to
follow the pattern of pure love that Christ has shown us that it
still exists. "
